Greetings from Moscow
Although Mandarin did not live for very long unfortunately, he left his mark on texels in Russia. I received this photo today, showing beautiful red-white texel sows, all descendants of Mandarin Cocktail at Brentwood Hotel. And of course their breeder-owner Irina Biletskaya. :o) Thank you very much for the nice photo!

Budgies update
You can show me fancy canaries, you can show me huge parrots and cocatoos, I always will say that budgerigars are the best birds in the whole world! :o)))
They are nice, they are small, they come in endless phantastic colours, and they are great personalities!
I have been keeping them for many years, and unfortunately the older generation is passing away these years. I still have 2 which are between 5 and 10, and I was thinking about not having any more. But, "Lelenc" showed up in a mysterious way, and he declared that he definitely wants to stay with us. He could not play too much with the oldies, so I bought him a young mate. So came "Ildike". But "she" turned out to be a boy, too... So, again, new birds came: I decided to buy two girls to give company to the boys. :o)
The new girls are yellow headed blue opalins (I think...) , look like twins at the moment. Thanks to their breeder, Balázs Fodor!
This is "New Bird Nr 1.". (Sorry, no approppriate names yet... )

She is "New Bird Nr. 2":

The girls getting sleepy in the evening:

The two new girls again, but our "old lady" showed up, too. She is on the left. At the moment, she is the only bird which was "born" here, so I know almost every minute of her life... She is near 10 years old, and always have been a bit overweighed. So, flying is not her main activity... I just love her colour, maybe that is why I chose our new "twins". :o)

This is "Lelenc". He spent some time "in the streets", but he is so tame, he wanted to join me on his own mind. I don't know exactly how old he can be, but I am sure he is still young. He is the only bird which is willing to sit on my hand, and "runs" to me every time I appear.

This is "Ildike". Everybody thought first that he was a girl (that's why the name...), but he isn't. He is the smallest (and youngest) of them all. Also the shiest but the most playful. He brings fun to the life of his company. You can find him near a toy always...

"Ildike" having some fun before going to sleep. (Does he ever sleep?!?)

This is our "old gentleman", a really huge show budgie in colour "grey":

This is how the lower part of the cage looked this evening: "Old lady" is about to leave the feeder, and "Lelenc" wants to be the next to have some snack before going to sleep:

Still at the show...
We were pleased to see that there is a show of children's drawings in the hall where our cavy show took place. Their theme was man+nature. Look at some of the wonderful artwork of the show!
Have you ever seen pink in a rainbow? :o)

Maybe the first work of a would-be impressionist:

Mum watering the garden (with quite a strong flush of water...), with a little chihuahua (?) watching:

Pet shop (with a poor kitten caged... But the fish tank looks fun):

Little fat squirrel (just like a cavy! :o) in the foreground:

It's Showtime!
We had a show this weekend. Again, much work, much stress - and much joy... I could show a few of the staff and meet some friends, too. Simply said: Great time!
The three which I showed:
Austrian Peruaner Rammstein (sheltie boar, tortie-white): Best of Breed (Sunday)
Emporio Armani at Brentwood Hotel (texel boar, tortie-white): Best of Breed, Best of Group (Sunday)
Fontana Trevi at Brentwood Hotel (texel sow, tortie-white): Best of Breed, Best of Group (Saturday)
But my biggest pleasure was to see the lots of Brentwood Hotel cavies shown by their owners. I would like to say thanks here to all who take loving care of their BH shelties and texels, and show them to their advantage. Here is a list of those which I was very proud of thsi weekend:
THE SHELTIES:
Dancing Domino at Brentwood Hotel (boar, black-white), owners: Eszter Antal and Csaba Horváth Junior Winner (both days!)
X-Face at Brentwood Hotel (boar, tortie-white), o: Judit Udvari
Pink Feeling at Brentwood Hotel (sow, red-white), o: Katalin Kálazi BEST OF BREED (Saturday)
Perfect Day at Brentwood Hotel (sow, tortie-white), o: Katalin Kálazi
THE TEXELS:
Debonair at Brentwood Hotel (boar, silveragouti-white), o: Gáborné Rédly
Quest at Brentwood Hotel (texel, tortie-white), o: Judit Udvari

Great win in Portugal

Frankliny - earlier known as Franklin... :o)
Heaven Slate
A Portugese gentleman - with a rose. Even if the rose is bigger than him at the moment... :o)
Anyway, this is Heaven Slate dos Roedores do Algarve, a slate blue texel baby boar. His breeder is Minda Santos, and "Heaven Slate" comes from Brentwood Hotel parents and grandparents (father: Bunuel at Brentwood Hotel). We wish all the best to him!
