New book on cavies!

I received a nice surprise this week: Marta sent me a copy of her new book. She is an expert on cuys, and as far as I know this is the first book ever dedicated to the "giant" cavies.

Congratulations and many thanks, Marta!

Keesha: the latest addition to our dilutes

She is Impala Keesha, our latest import from Ioana (Impala Caviary, Romania). A really nice girl, continuing the lines which I trust and appreciate: with Irene's "von Werne" lines on her father's side, and with Ikon, one of my best dilutes (from my earlier imports - also partly from Irene) as her mother.
Keesha will live with her co-owner Katalin. With Keesha, a series of imports is completed. We don't have anything else to do now, but to hope for babies in diluted colours again... :o)

Thank you Ioana!!!

Veyron Pompon

This is our new boy Veyron. He comes from Poland, although his parents are Swedish. I hope he will help us further improve substance and hair quantity. Veyron will join Stacy and Stacy's children to represent that special "Swedish touch" which I have been adoring for long.

Many thanks to Aldona Czerniakowska for bringing this special boy here!

Judging: sometimes hard work, sometimes fun...

Last weekend was a bit intense: I was sitting next to our judge, Helmut Sakac, and wrote his critiques for two days. Not an easy job, but great opportunity to learn, especially that he applied the EU standards and system of judging. Many thanks for him for his trip to Hungary!

Also, I would like to say a big "Thank you!" to my boss, Attila, for his support of our club.
...And for these three photos he took. :o)

Judging: hard work and concentration...

but great fun at the same time:

A very special photo (where Wafer will live...)

I received this photo today, from a very nice family where Wafer at Brentwood Hotel will go this weekend. They sent it to me to see his would-be place, not finished yet, but standing at its place already. Good job, Bajnóczi family, and many thanks for the picture!!!

(Can you spot Wafer's photos on the wall??? :o)))

Kenzo

This is Kenzo at Brentwood Hotel (Walt Disney at Brentwood Hotel - Ivette vom Mumintal) taking a rest in his show cage last weekend. He will live in the Lunabakelo caviary from now on.
Thanks to Adrienn Fehér for the great shot!

Look what I have! :o)

The only problem I had at the weekend was that I did not have enough time for dogs...
Anyway, I could look around shortly, and could find a special stand selling ceramic sculptures. I simply could not resist when I found this one. It was handmade by a Polish artist, and for me, it represents the beauty and elegance of the breed which I adore so much: the COCKER SPANIEL.

Tired but pleased...

We are over a hectic weekend again - the biggest show in the history of our club. It was a great time, lots of people from our club arrived, exhibited or "just" helped us manage the show. I also met cavy people from Czechia, Poland, Russia and Italy.
I simply have to go to sleep now, but I will write more details in the coming days.
Anyway, some points for the impatient ones... :o)
- Wendina at Brentwood Hotel, my chocolate tri baby went to Poland (Good luck, Dorota!),
- Veyron Pompon, a beautiful sheltie baby arrived to represent some Swedish lines here (Thank you, Aldona!),
- Mindy von Werne, our new texel baby won Best of Breed on Saturday (Thanks to her breeder Irene, and co-owner Katalin!)
- Kenzo at Brentwood Hotel (texel, gold-agouti) won Best of Breed on Sunday (Good luck, to new owner, Erika!)
